There is no better way to meet lots of sniffy snoots than attending a Greyhound Trust meet and greet!
As I have adopted all three of my beautiful hounds from The Greyhound Trust, I thought it was about time I volunteered and gave something back to the charity; by taking photographs at the events and monthly meet and greets. The photographs from these events can be found by date order in the Gallery drop down menu.
Since moving to Cornwall and taking Venatrix home with us, we have been attending the Greyhound Trust Cornwall meet and greets, which are held every month on a Sunday. They are a lovely way to socialise the hounds, raise awareness with regards to giving a home to a retired racer and raise money for the Trust, which is always needed.
At the meet and greets, the main aim is to raise awareness and charitable donations for the Greyhound Trust. All who attend participate in a group walk, which in itself is a sight to behold due to all of the legs, snoots and tails! There is also usually a fantastic stall run by the Trust representatives, where you can purchase stunning gifts and hound themed delights. There is definitely something for everyone!

Personally, I absolutely love the meet and greets and look forward to them. I think this is due to the people being so welcoming, the hounds being so beautiful and the fact that the scenery is usually stunning. I’m pretty sure Venatrix and Coco love it too as their faces light up with all the fuss and attention.
I would urge anyone who either has a greyhound, would like to be the human of a greyhound or is just a greyhound fanatic to attend. It really is an uplifting experience for everyone involved, four paws and all. If you do come along, please introduce yourself – I’ll be the maniac running back and forth with a camera.
